Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
Here is pics of the GMC..A little rough but still worth something..Still working out a deal with the owner but the price is still under $500 and it has some new sheet metal included..He's keeping the motor and brackets for the motor though...That newer bed and the rust is what I like the least...

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
The chrome grill and bumpers are probably the best things on the truck!! He said included was atleast one fender,a door skin, cab corners,rockers,floors,etc...Just need some 67-72 stepside rear fenders and steps and convert the bed over to 67-72 style...

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
I wouldnt get rid of it but would trade for a 67-72 bed!!Actually the plan is to use the 67-72 rear fenders and steps on the main part of the existing bed. It's been done and there is a FAQ on it and if I dont find a bed,I'm going to do the swap...

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
I've actually seen several 67-72's with 73-87 stepside beds on them. They never looked "right" on a 73-87 let alone 67-72
Good score, looks like a nice grill and clip

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
Yep...factory shortbed 4wd...I'm hoping I can get it for $350 so I can say I've bought 2 factory short 4wds for $350
Don't know if I'll keep this one or not..it may get some rust repair, primered, and a motor put in and then re-sold..probably not going that route but I wont know till I get my quote on painting my other $350 short 4wd... |

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
I thought I took a pic of the drivers side but I guess not.The back part of the drivers side front fender is smashed in from a wreck,as is the front part of the cab.I dont know how severly the cab is at this point but dont think it was bad enough to affect the cab mounts. The cab may be able to be saved, but I wont know till I get to work on it.The door was also damaged...I will probably use another "minor" rust door and put on the door skin he says is included..Other then that it has the normal rust belt rust...
Tow hooks-no that is a chain bolted from frame horn to frame horn to pull it. The frame-pretty rusty but I wont attempt the sandblast it and see what is all there I didnt see any rusted out areas and it didnt have the rust issues between crossmembers and frame like my other one..The frame did crack at the rear shock mount ,but it was repaired.I'll probably go through there and brace it up some more... Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
Rick,I haven't bought it yet,I've been busy spending money for parts on the other short k10 getting it going before I go and get this one--will probably be end of September before it's home, probably.

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
Still negotiating a price on it.I offered him $425 and I'm waiting to see if he'll take it.A unofficial list of parts included includes a new drivers side fender, new cab corners, rockers, maybe a door skin, and some other parts from a 71 chevy truck, and what's seen in the pics.I think it would look good with the rust fixed, painted flat black, and maybe some 33" boggers..Cant decide on whether to use a correct short step or get a passenger side short fleet bedside and put a fleetside bed together for it.I dont know which but if I get it,It will be a play toy,not a restoration.I've got a 4spd/205 to put in it if I dont want to use the original 350/205 in it now..
Here's an interior pic... Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 09-22-2007 at 06:24 PM. |

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
You're right Rick,my last stepside was a long step 69 k10..I guess you need to bring me one of your 67-72 stepside beds down here for me so I dont have to use the 73-87 stepbed on it

Re: Pics of the poor ol' GMC K1500
It would be to tempting to not do a restoration on that one for me.
