Re: Hub cap question

I forgot one, another difference that I have found is that some look to be just polished stainless while some are a plated metal maybe mix of copper/brass/bronze/nickel mix? Fwiw, I was told a long time ago that GM changed the material the caps were made of to correct the problem of them splitting around the outer edges. Cb

Re: Hub cap question

I`ve seen them out of both materials.I heard the same about the reason for change. You can "pop" out the centers to convex and paint the bowtie to make correct.

Re: Hub cap question

So is this one the correct year for a GMC 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton?

Re: Hub cap question

No, that one would have been originally found on a 73 and up chev but the 69-72 style is somewhat similar with only two differences. The first being the color of the bowtie (blue) and second is that the center bowtie area of the cap is dished outwards instead of being concave. Cb
