Lowered the truck some more today!

Back in the winter 70GMCer and I lowered my truck using 2.5" drop spindles in the disc brake conversion but it wasn't low enough for me. Today we cut half way between .75 and 1 full coil off a set of stock springs using a 3" air cut off tool. I was suprised to get more drop than I wanted. Normally in the past I have cut 1.25 coils off and got 3" drop. Today we got about 2 3/8" drop (now almost 5" total with spindles). I was hoping for only about 1.75" drop. I'm planning to try to add a set of coil spacers if they are still available. I'd like to bring it up about .75 inch. We also installed new KYB Gas Adjust shocks Here are some pics taken with my camera phone. I'm real happy with the rake right now with my rear 4" coils. The whole job including cutting the coils took 90 minutes. Thanks again Steve! Here's a few pics. First pic is a BEFORE pic! Second is After shot!.

Re: Lowered the truck some more today!

Thanks spraybomb!. What I forgot to mention is the drivers side sits lower than the passenger side by about .5" inches when I sit in the truck and wanted to try raising the drivers side only to make it level with the passenger side. 70GMCer had a good idea about we should have swapped springs from one side to the other to compensate for my weight on that side hindsight is always 20/20. I'm going to try to find some coil adjusters to raise my side up a tad and then get it aligned. The new shocks make all the difference in the world with this much drop Can't wait to get new ones for my worn out rear ones too! One other thing to mention is with the aftermarket disc kits it pushes the wheels out further so I would recommend a 7" front rim with a narrower tire. Mine are out a little too far being 8" but I'll live with it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Lowered the truck some more today!

Andy- I'm going to look for those or the rubber type tomorrow. Hopefully the local parts stores have them in the store.
