Center seat belt placement question

Last week I picked up a optional center occupant lap belt for my 71' and was wondering was the male belt supposed to go on the left and the female on the right, or vice versa? Anal I know, but if I'm putting it in, I want to do it factory configured right the first time.

I know they bolt in with the exisiting bolts for your regular lap belts, just don't know which strap goes on which side. Thanks

P.S. where they supposed to bolt down on top of your regular belt or underneath?

Re: Center seat belt placement question

Does anyone not have a truck with an original center belt that was installed from the factory that they could please look at for me? I would just like to try and do this right the first time if I can with taking the seat out and all.

Thanks

Here you go. This has a seat cover, but as far as I know the belts had never been touched.

Re: Center seat belt placement question

I think you will end up with two female halves (the receiving end of the belt) together on the passengers side. Honestly, it wouldn't matter too much, but you don't want to connect the wrong halves together and not have any restraint for the driver. Look at the way they are in a late model with a bench seat. I'd configure yours in the same way.
