Door and window rubber
What does everyone think about letting the rubber products sit out before installing.
I have new rubber for door seals, window's and such, how long before I install it should I let it sit out and get all the kinks and such out of it. Just wondering and if anybody has any thought about it. Thanks Andy

Re: Door and window rubber
I've put on a lot of weather strip and never felt that it was needed. It can't hurt but any weather strip that I've used has never been that kinked out of shape. Make sure if there is a left or right side to it that you lay it out to be sure that you install the right piece on the right side.
Use 3M black non drip type adhesive. esll.

Re: Door and window rubber
Thanks for the tip. I didn't think it needed to until I saw the windsheild rubber. It was twisted up pretty good.
I have set it out and think it's OK.

Windsheild rubber will be kink free once you put it around the windsheild. esll. If your truck has a nice paint job I'd avoid sealer around front and rear windows. Makes a mess and these trucks don't leak for all the times they may get wet. If it's parked out side and is used as a D/D you might consider using sealer. esll.
