New to board- Just bought a 70 C10 stepside- pics
Just wanted to make my introduction and say hi-
Long story short 23, just moved out to boulder CO and started a new job- In past ive owned a 67 Camaro - 67 Corvette - 71 Chevelle and got into F-body camaros. Owned a 94, 95 and 97 Z28. Moving out to boulder i wanted to get back into classic autos and figured id give a truck a shot- came across this 1970 C10 Stepside and just couldnt pass her up. Original owner, with full documentation, original chrome, original paint, all matching part numbers and was only asking 5k. So here she is- Friend on CZ28.com recommended i hop on this board and from what ive been reading this place is great- With that said, im gonna be looking for a lot of advice and asking a lot of opinions, as you guys know your stuff and have built some great trucks - Just wanted to say hi - and get involved- more pics here- http://www.workingnotion.com/truck/ Last edited by kingman109; 10-06-2007 at 08:16 PM. |

Re: New to board- Just bought a 70 C10 stepside- pics
lot of thoughts- im new to the scene here so def gonna want the guidance of the board. but....
i want to keep her classic looking with more of a street rod look. Allready ordered a new oak wood bed with stainless trim, and found an upholstry shop to redo the interior. The engine is still has the factory bottom end and only 112k on her. Ive always built LT1's and LS1's, so this isnt too far off. This winter im gonna pull the engine and bring it to a shop and have the bottom end fully built to handle boost. Ive never built a FI engine so wanted to give it a shot with this one. Shooting for 600-650 horse. Still debating on the cam depending on what i do with the bottom and which supercharger i decide to go with. This spring i want to pull the body off her, modernize the suspension a bit, drop her about 5", put a shortened 9" in and mini tubs in the back. I dont plan on making her too serious a track truck, but would like something that can pull 11's, yet be a comfortable ride around town and still maintain a classic look. Like i said, its early- i like to do a lot of research and plan well and will definately be posting everythign i do and consider on the board for approvals and opinions Last edited by kingman109; 10-06-2007 at 09:37 PM. |

awesome plans man. Make sure to take lots of pics of your progress and post them here. hopefully you've already found the "projects forum" here. Tons of awesome ideas there.
have you thought about going with air ride for the suspension? i think it would meet your requirements quite well. btw, and on the new tuck. |

Very nice! That's a great truck for what you paid. Any idea where those wheelwell moldings came from?

Welcome from Maryland!Took a ride up to Nederland?I`ve never seen a long stepper done like you want.I think it`ll be way cool. The previous owner definately had his own style going on.Nothing to shabby, just his own touches for sure.

Nice looking truck! Must've been driven only in summer for it to be a rust-free Co. truck. from Pa. where we have our share of rust buckets..... don't see a whole lot of originals in THAT nice a condition here.
