Will they swap?
Hi All,
I've got a 69 GMC short step, and I'm hoping to raid a 72 GMC 3/4 for parts (interior, motor and tranny, rad support, inner fender, heater parts) Are there any parts that won't go ? I've heard that the hood is different and so are the doors ? Is there anything else that won't go ?

Re: Will they swap?
Other than suspension, you should be good to go. The hood will interchange and so will the doors, you just need to use the 72 panels or swap the guts since the regulator and latch are 72 specific.

Re: Will they swap?
There are a few differences, but about everything swaps anyway.The`72 doors bolt right up.They just have a different appearance inside:
1)The door panels are molded plastic. The shanks on the window winder and door latch are longer. 2)There`s a dimple with a screw below the divider bar at the wing vent. The `68 hood/latch swaps onto the `72,but the top bar on the grille and fender brows (surround) must be removed.Visa-versa,the `68 would need the 69-72 top bar and fender brows. The latches swap with the hoods. The grilles look different, but swap. The e-brake controls are different, but swap. The steering wheels different, but swap. The brakes are different, but swap. The axles/spindles are different, but swap. There are other differences like ashtray slides and interior mirrors, but, basically it all swaps.
