The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
The one thing that is consistant about our trucks is this...They are "Classic" looking bone stock or highly modified. Then it got me to thinking...how many of our trucks are bone stock (one can have new tires, new paint, shocks, etc-but has been kept stock), slightly modified (lowered-lifted, new wheels, modified eng. and suspension etc.-but still has the appearance of being stock), or fully modified. So lets take a poll and find out.

Re: The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
What about stock on the outside but modified underneath (why does it have to be lowered?)

Re: The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
If a truck looks stock but had improvements such as brakes and suspension etc...then #2 option would fit. These are only one of many mods one could make to their truck.

Stock is the best IMHO... Much better for resale. Some customs are cool, but some are horrific abortions.

I guess #2 doesn't mean it has to be lowered or raised. Any mods that would take away from the initial design would fall under #2. Going from 6 lug to two lug with stock suspension would fall under the #2 choice. Again one must judge for themselves which area their truck would fall under.

Re: The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
Mine would fit the second choice but mine are slightly lifted, not lowered
Original looks of body, correct emblems, grill, etc for year.Correct stock interior with factory goodies...tach,tilt,bucket seats, etc.Motor looks stock but is a healthy 325 horse motor. If it wasn't lifted, didnt have polished aluminum rims, and 35" tires,it would appear fairly stock except for the color, and if you looked under the hood. Re: The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
mine is stock....
....thats about all there is to it. haha. it's even going to be keeping the somewhat stock sized tires (235-75). color is...close enough. but, otherwise..stance is stock. Three on the tree. 307, with headers, and HEI eventually. even have the poverty caps for it. yup. you might call it a Stock-Rod. haha. -Sam.

Re: The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
Mine's more like #2, not stock, more like "Period Correct" for the most part. A little lowered, now with a V-8, Auto trans from the original 6 banger/4spd. But mostly original.

Re: The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
i dont think there are very many trucks or cars out there that are actully FACTORY original... i think on average even the unmodified trucks would better be considered stock, or unmodified.
factory original is a powerful word to the right car guy... my 71 will apear factory original hopefully, but to the right guy they'll be able to tell its not with the mix-matched parts from diffrent years and such. it is numbers matching, as far as the drivetrain goes, and was pretty well equipped from the factory but the entire body will be pieced together from several trucks, the cab is from a 70' c30 motorhome, the clip is all swap meet finds, the bed is from a 68 c10, and some stuff i dont even know where it came from |

I'm not stock at all. About the only thing left of the original truck is the 4 speed.

mine are close to stock appearing, but are now where near original.. drive traines have been replaced who knows how many times, and several other mods that are not detectable to the untrained eye

Re: The Correct Poll...Is your truck stock or modified?
My truck stared life being green and white with a 350/350 combo. its now pink and white with a 396 and TH400. I've filled the stake holes, added a front sway bar, wheels from an 80's Burb and have 2003 GM Integrated shoulder belt seats waiting to go in. I've also got an ECE rear mount fuel tank and hidden hitch ready to install. I will eventually get it lowered as well. I think I fit the #2 category..

I flipped the air-cleaner lid on my 77. Does that kick me into tricked out / heavily modified category?
Oh yeah,, I think it has an aftermarket radiator cap. *dangit* Neat thread.
