rear seal conversion??

hey guys,
I was wondering about this 350. The seller says it has been converted from a one piece rear seal to a two piece. Why would you convert a one piece to a two piece...i thought the one piece seals were less likely to leak.

Re: rear seal conversion??

Well, good rebuildable 2 piece rear main blocks, believe it or not, are getting kinda hard to find. Since they have been out of production (well, not used in production vehicles) since, what, 1986-87, and with hot rodders, all kinds of racers (drag, oval, whatever) using them left and right, I guess you could say they're scarce? I know I have cratered my fair share dirt-trackin (not too bad I guess, only 2 so far) and that's in a "stock" class car... :-)
