engine progress
so since many of you know i had crank bearings going out in my motor i did a rebuild on the lower end. i also replaced the crank, cam, timing chain and gears also with a high volume oil pump. when i pulled all of the covers and oil pan off i found that my timing chain had a lot of slack in it, so much that it actually ate a groove in the timing cover. so i've gotten all the covers and oil pan painted up along with the intake. i haven't gotten the motor quite put all the way back together but that will be done this weekend. here's the photos that i have so far so enjoy!

Re: engine progress
You definitely outdid yourself. Great job on the paint. Can't wait to see what it'll look like fully assembled in your truck.

Re: engine progress
Looking good! Doesn't look like you are applying the paint sparingly.

Re: engine progress
the engine has 5-6 coats, the intake also has like 5 coats, the pulleys, covers, and oil pan have about 3-4 coats including clear coat due to the black paint hazing over on me

Re: engine progress
well a new high volume oil pump is on the list of new parts that i am installing on the motor. it probably wasn't the factory gears and chain. but the chain had stretched so much that it ate a groove into the side of the timing chain cover. the only fiber teeth that i have seen was on a ford 400 that i had used for parts when i rebuilt a 351m to a 410 stroker.
