integrity of this board by members
reciently i,ve had several dealings with a few board member who,ve committed to buying parts, so i took the time to cherry pick for them & remove parts per there requestand in one case haul part 200 miles ( for free with a no show ) and in another case package, get shipping quotes and have everything ready to go when payment arrives. and then there know where to be found, wont answer emails, wont answer phone callls not even the slightest courtesy to pm, email or call and cancel. people the integrity of this site is very high but to keep it please if you do not intend to carry through with your deals dont make them. there is things we all need to do and take care of besides risking injury ( from removeing big heavy parts ) and time lost for taking the time to help you out with antique parts. its very frustrateing. from now on any parts i have that can or will be sold will be paid for in advance before any effort has been spent on anything to do with the parts. a few have ruined it for the rest.i,ve herd from others who sell this same story several times.....
regretfully bob

Re: integrity of this board by members
Yup. Integrity of this board IS vital. It keeps us from having to waste our time on e-bay and losing some money to a third party. I'd hate to think that we need to set up a 'feedback' scoring system on this board. yikes!

Re: integrity of this board by members
Bob... you know my $$ is on the way.
Bob is a good guy. We and I have had dealings before, and out of trust, he was dropping off almost $50 worth of stuff at DHL, as I was at the post office getting a money order. I'll probably have these parts mounted on my burb before he sees any green. THAT... is a good member to have. I've been burned in the same way he has just described. |

This needs to be seen by everyone.
People, keep our board clean and honest. It's a good community. I know this isn't necessarily the "correct" forum, but it will get more views here than anywhere... DLB |

Re: integrity of this board by members
None of us is any better than the word we give. In treating people the way you want to be treated, situations such as this don't come to rear their ugly heads. While there may have been a very good reason for a no-show, to be incommunicado via phone or email is just not sportsmanlike.

WE Need a Feedback System
i only had one deal go Bad Here and the Guy was trying to burn me for $1700. Luckly after several attempts and finally telling him we were going to court he finally gave me my money back. Last edited by BAGGERSOCAL; 10-18-2007 at 12:46 PM. |

Re: integrity of this board by members
I must say that everyone that I was fortunate enough to deal with have been very informative and just plain great with the buisness end of things. I have been able to find parts for my truck that would have been next to impossible to get here in Jersey. I can't thank those responsible enough. I think that the people who consider ourselves to be a kind of a brotherhood would never dream of deliberatly trying to shaft another member. E-mail has made all of these transactions so impersonal and some people forget that there is a real person with their own life and all the things that go with it at the other end. When I was a boy, a very wise old man told me " In life you only pick up what you put down." I try to live by that. Lane

Re: integrity of this board by members
Question...
It's my understanding that the only ones who can buy from this board has to be a site supporter...is this correct?

Re: integrity of this board by members
I hope the experience with BCOWANWHEELS is an exception to the rule or glitch to an otherwise stellar group of truck enthusiast. Were those few who caused BCOWANWHEELS these headaches site supporters? If so then my only suggestion would be if this ugly trend would continue to manifest itself then the solution might be to implement a rule that if one is not a site supporter than one cannot buy off this board. I don't understand why those who are registered and get a lot of valuable info from this site do not spend the $25 and become a site supporter. It is a true deal. Geeeeeeee...how much would a couple subscriptions be to truck magazine cost? As said before I have faith and confidence that 99.9999999% of those who are on this site are straight shooters.

Re: integrity of this board by members
bob.. I know it wasn't to me.
I was useing our transaction, and your actions based on faith and previouse transactions, to show that you are a good trusting man who will go out of your way and go above and beyond to make the deal. If you had any question what so ever on if I was sending the money... you woulda locked up my parts untill the money order got there and was inspected and cashed. Shawn, honestly, I think I may have seen something. I have a stack of mail sitting downstairs that I haven't gone through yet. I know I don't have any bills due for another week, so the mail has been a little low on my priority list. (I had thought all my sold parts were paid for and shipped already) Since I left for Washington, EVERYTHING has been a blur. Heck, I have yet to do laundry since before I left to get the burb. (I have lotsa clothes) It's been a steady flow of crap bombarded on Andy for 2 weeks now, starting the day i got home. 2 min later... Yeah shawn, I have your funds here. Give me a couple days to get it ready and it'll be out. Like I said, I thought everything was gone already. My apologies on not bein ready for you. |

Sorry to hear about your bad luck bob. People that do that sort of thing tick me right off too. If someone wants to back out of a deal at least have the common courtesy of telling me so.

Re: integrity of this board by members
I catch myself getting excited about things and then having to step back and say "I can't do it right now" and let things pass - I can see it happening to others but they don't pull up.
I've been holding my tongue on this and still think I should but this kills me - I've sent a few things and the money never shows.. ask a few times, hear the hard luck story so I say "Let it slide this time, it's on me"... The next thing I see is a post about the new intake or carb or PARTS TRUCK someone just bought... and I can't afford the intake or carb I want STILL! - Anywho, glad it's off my chest. (and GOD I hope I don't owe anybody anything at the moment.. pretty sure I don't.....)

Re: integrity of this board by members
why not mention these loosers names, so they can feel like the loosers they are. But they probably won't thats kinda the way loosers are. but also the rest of us will know who they are, so we don't have to deal with them and get srcewed around aswell. Just my 2 cents.

I have bought all my parts off the board, and with all those transactions have only been burnt a couple times. It sure is maddening when it does happen!
