anyone running 17's and stock height

I want to eventually lower my truck but not right away but i wandered if it would look dumb for me to run 17 inch rims on my truck at stock stance. The rims i am looking at are the 17x8 Crager soft 8's. i think i am going to go with the black powder coated version since everything else on my truck will be black. Just let me know what you think...thanks

I just put 17x9's on my '72, stock stance.

It had 15x6 stock steelies on it (which I kept). It really looks nice.
