That is a cool truck. The bigger trucks back then were more likely to have the tach than a 1/2 ton pickup. I know they had a electric and a gear drive tach for those size trucks. I got my whole dash out of a dump truck, I went through three trucks before I found the electric one the other's were the gear drive as in a corvette.
School buses had them too.
