Have 67 short step with 12-bolt 3.73 (I think).
-- Raised one wheel, put in neutral, etc..
-- When rotated tire two turns, drive shaft turned approximately 3.7 turns. Should have been stock in truck (had a 250 6 cyl from factory).

Looking for a better ratio for daily driving / highway.

From what I have read 3.42 or 3.08 should work.

Question 1: recommendations?

Question 2: Anyone have one?

I have a 3.07 in the GMC, and while it makes it an awsome freeway flyer, I truly hate it off the line. (and my engine isn't exactly stock either)
What stage are you at with your ride? Is it on the road, or being taken apart...What?
i have found with my Small Block, that it is dead under 2800 RPM, and really kicks in at 3000RPM...kinda like a turbo almost.
I found that it actually gets better MPG spinning the higher RPMs. At one time I was looking to trade a 3.73 for my 3.07, but you are a bit far for that.

Put it on the road a month ago. Was expecting lower RPMs on hiway.

Have 350C tranny.

i have a 3.08 rear end, coils, im in phoenix, not sure how far from you, maybe greyhound would do it if you want it, 100. this is complete, even got tires and rims. (would take em off to ship. also its five lug.

Mine is 6-lug - the shafts should swap though (right ?)

from what i know(very little) these shafts were swapped in originally. i dont know about shipping, i will chevk grey hounds web site to se if they have something on there. yours is coil right? will let you know what i find out.

Looks like he has both 5 and 6 lugs.
Not sure of the ratios

Also you might want to search for one of BBS1965 posts, He is in Waxahachie and last I heard he was covered up in rear ends.
You could send him a private message or e-mail.

If all else fails I saw one in a salvage yard over the weekend, it was already pulled from the truck

Can't you just switch out the gears and keep you case and axles?

Yep - Willing to change gears in one piece - if possible.

Don't think I am up to meshing the gears seperately.

shipping via grey hound from here is 70 bucks, if its under 100lbs. dont know if it is or not, but it might be if i take the axle sghafts out. any way, havea good one.

Yeah, sometimes 3.07's are nice.
This is without the lock up converter like your TH350C has, knock off 100-200 RPM with your set up...asuming you have 28 inch tall tires like I do anyways.
