Are the frames the same or are the 3/4 heavier and wider?

Re: 1/2 And 3/4 Frame ??
Basically the same.I've heard the 3/4 tons may have had some more bracing but don't know for sure. The one tons is when they used a lot heavier frame.

Re: 1/2 And 3/4 Frame ??
No sir, the 3/4 ton has added braces in two areas....
From the trailing arm crossmember to frame rails there is a diagonal brace on each side. In the area above the rear axle where the coils mount there is a doubler plate. I've posted pics of this before on here, I'm trying to search the pics out.

Re: 1/2 And 3/4 Frame ??
I found the pics I posted awhile back...
This subject comes up a lot and folks are kind of sketchy on the details, so I took these pictures to illustrate the different areas where the 3/4 ton frames are beefed up from the factory.

some added bracing, and they don't use the C/10 specific cab mounts.

Re: 1/2 And 3/4 Frame ??
for all practical pourposes... they are pretty much the same. You can swap one for the other and never know it. Just remember to use the cab mounts for the specific frame.

Re: 1/2 And 3/4 Frame ??
Side note; If it's a longhorn 3/4 ton of course it's way different.

Re: 1/2 And 3/4 Frame ??
good call WL... if it's a longhorn, it's a one ton frame, which is longer, and a taller C chanel, and has big leaf springs out back.
