Replacement door key?
Alright - just shoot me
I lost the door key to my '88 Bazer (which also controls the power motor to the back glass from the outside) Can you still get replacements at a GM dealership by bringing in the VIN ? (along with id) Last time i did this was in the early 90's and it seems thats what i did , and the local dealership cut me a key on the spot. I would just call them, but it is too late now and my curiosity is getting the better of me |

Re: Replacement door key?
Provided the vehicle has never been rekeyed then yes they SHOULD be able to pull up the key code by the V.I.N. #
If they can't then your next coarse of action would be to take out a door lock cylinder and take it to a locksmith to have them match a key to it for you. Quite a bit more expensive but still cheaper in the long run than rekeying the whole vehicle (doors, tailgate, glove compartment, center console) I would suggest pulling the lock cylinder from the passengers side door as statistically it is used less than the drivers side will will have less wear on the tumblers inside it.
