Six Lug Disc Brake ?????

I have a six lug drum brake configuration on the front of my 70 Stepside. I plan to stay with the six lug pattern. I would like to switch the front from drum to disc and keep six lug pattern. I have new wheels and tires that are also six lugs so now you understand my motivation. What is the best affordable path to accomplish this task. I do not need any fancy big brakes. I want to be able to walk into the parts store and buy parts off the shelf.

Re: Six Lug Disc Brake ?????

You can swap the spindles over to 71-72 disc brake setup, and order 6 lug rotors from Classic Heartbeat and few other companies. I don't know of any off the shelf AutoZone or Advance 6 lug rotors though.

Re: Six Lug Disc Brake ?????

i am doing the samething and i found that it's cheaper if you can find a 71 - 72 front axle with disk brakes already and installing that on your truck. just make sure your new axle ratio matches with your old one.
