What Interior Colour Goes With Colonial Yellow? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Any opinions on what interior colour would go best with a Colonial Yellow paint scheme if I were to repaint my 1979 GMC 1 ton that colour? Tan? Black? White? Any other suggestions? Thanks a lot.

I kinda think a tan would go great with just about any shade of yellow. Black would probably be OK, but hot for around here in the summer, but that might not be a problem for you. I think white would just be a biotch to keep clean (at least for me).

I was thinking along those lines to, about black being too hot in the summer, as we can get into the mid 30s (degrees Celsius) where I live, and about white being hard to keep clean. I didn't really think tan would go well with yellow but I was just checking out a 1979 GMC truck brochure, and one of the model trucks was yellow with a tan interior. It looks fine to me, and it will be easier to keep clean and cooler than black.

My father had a 77 Chevy with a two tone yellow and creme paint scheme. It had tan interior. Not only did it look great but it was the factory interior of choice. I have seen alot of the yellow trucks with tan interior. I have to agree the white would be a pain and the black hot in the summer. If you're going to go black make sure you have a good A/C.

contrary to po[pular belief, black is the HARDEST color to keep clean. Every grain of pollen shows up on the exterior, but a black interior is not really that hot. I have a black seat cover with black rhinolined floors and a black dash pad. Its not horrible. But then again, I'm a Texan, we cant take a lot more punishment than you Yankees....

jokersbowtie, that interior looks great! I like the way the black and yellow contrast. I guess it really comes down to personal preference, and right now I am leaning towards tan as that is what the truck originally came in. But that black and yellow is SOOOOO tempting....

i go with the tan / camel too maybe some darker stitching to set it off a bit
or do a tuck and roll interiour in camel brown

Well, I have decided to go with the tan/camel interior. Lime green would be a bit too odd with a Colonial Yellow truck!

This is Buckskin interior (tan) with a buckskin exterior . I am sure it would look great in a Col Yellow truck . Frank

You probably made the right choice with tan , but black would look good too.

White would look the trickest --- how much are you really gonna drive it?

I will be driving it a lot once I get it finished, so white wouldn't really be a good choice. I've always been a yellow fan, its a different colour that you don't see much around here. Red is just too common of a colour, and I personally think it wouldn't look quite right on this truck.
