Why not make a thread for it?

Got the the truck last december, it was alot worse than what it appeared to be on ebay.

The could put your feet thru the floor. the rockers were bondo and tin.

Re: My 66 frame off.

I stripped the truck completely down, sandblasted the frame and painted it flat black.

you can also see the engine painted in this picture. Painted the block black. haven't painted the intake yet. Needs new valve covers still.

Re: My 66 frame off.

Here was when the cab was in the middle of the stripping process.

Also took the hood down to bare metal while it was there.

Oh, and the bed.

Re: My 66 frame off.

The bottom of one of the doors had some rot.
Fixed that.

Also turned out the "fenders" were filled with bondo.

the patch panel fit nicely.

Re: My 66 frame off.

Then I found an entire truck for 80 bucks. I couldn't turn it down. Barely any rust what so ever. No engine, tranny, wheels, or tires.

I've been picking a few small parts off of it, and selling others.

Re: My 66 frame off.

After getting pissed off trying to sandblast the inner fenders off the doner truck I took them along with some other parts to get blasted. Worth all 60 bucks.

Got them primed and painted this weekend.

Today, I got the fenders straight and had the painter prime them.

Re: My 66 frame off.

Wow, 80 bucks for a parts truck. What a score. It would have brought the PO at least twice that much at the crusher.

No, sorry man. I'm trying to get rid of them though, I'm looking for a low back seat.

Re: My 66 frame off.

Not much progress lately. I've been bust studying for exams.
Damn, I can't wait until I finish college.

I got my fenders blocked out.

Also received a couple of parts in the mail today. Cab mounts, roll pan, tailgate hinges, bed mount pads, radiator mounts.

Also picked up my turbo 400 for the shop today. It got an overhaul. and picked up a new torque converter.

Hopefully a bunch of progress soon. I finish exams next week and will be off for about a month and a half.

Sorry, no pictures, I'll try and get some tomorrow.
