Re: New 283 Motor
What do you have hooked up to it carb/intake/headers/etc wise? I have a 283 in my 62 and I am starting to shop for parts...

Re: New 283 Motor
the 283 has a 350 turbo transmission,4 barrel rodchester carb. buying off another member on the form motor is all stock, but I have a set of POWER PACK heads on the 283and headers for nice breathing.

Re: New 283 Motor
The 283 is a bullet proof engine!I ran one for 10 yrs.First in a 68 Imp,then in a 66 C10 long step with stump pullers. It wasn't a real power house(stock rebuild) but it could handle the revs and you could set your watch by it.(I still have it and would bet my bottom dollar it would fire up with minimum effort).

Re: New 283 Motor
Its funny how if you ask any older gentleman about an engine they will tell you that you are wasting your time if you put anything other than a 283 in. So I am glad I did. And it is great to be a bit different.
