Exclamation WIW - 86 Silverado

I'm looking at this one really hard, it's a CreamPuff

Twin fuel tanks, blemish from bed rails, ding on the top
of the tailgate, ZERO rust in the bed, purs like a kitten.

I think he's a lil on the high side so I need to know WIW ?

I'd say between $2500-$3500. Depends on how bad you want it. I can't believe it doesn't have power windows. That color looks beautiful when redone in todays basecoat/clearcoat paints. I think Ken, (N2TRUX) has some pics of one that color with 20's.

I'd like to see them, my truck is originally that color.

Re: WIW - 86 Silverado

2wd long bed, what year exactly?
Best case scenario would be an 87 and up.
That way you'd get fuel injection and overdrive.

My dad had the same basic style truck and I always liked driving it.

Does this one have over drive?
Very important IMO.

Have you checked NADA or Kelly Blue Book for prices yet?

Re: WIW - 86 Silverado

I think it's probably in the 2500-3500 like lolife said. You are of course in my area and I've seen trucks like that go for that and a bit higher. I assume he's probably asking around $4K if I had to guess. Am I right?

Better being a SWB IMO.

What's he asking?

So being an 87, you get the gooodies.

Nice truck, buy it already...

Re: WIW - 86 Silverado

No it's an 86, couldn't find any prices for it so I used 87 prices.

I'm going to pass on this one, I offered him alot more than you
all are saying and he turned it down. The thing looks better in
person, A/C blowss cold, everything works, drives flawlessly. I
think it's borderline BJ material except for the 2 minor issues

Re: WIW - 86 Silverado

I may have to revise my answer. My "dial up finally loaded all the pics,... and it looks pretty sweet. $4500 to $6500 would be a little closer. Those are Ebay prices. It would never bring that in my area,... but it looks better, MUCH better, than the one I bought for $2800.

Re: WIW - 86 Silverado

Here's what I see-

86 SWB Silverado, 305, 700r4, a/c, tilt, no power window, no power door locks.
It appears to have original paint that could be made to shine like new. Interior looks immaculate.

The only real negative I see is the paint on top of the bed, and the ding on the tailgate. It would be tough to repair and blend since there is no place to stop until you get to the lower trim.

If you are anal about paint like me the only solution would be to repaint the bed which could cost close to 1k. The quick solution would be a spray in liner that covers the rails.

I agree with lolife99 that this is a 4500.00-6500.00 truck. If it had power windows and locks, and didn't have the paint damage I would bump that up 1000.00.

Hey Ken,... That's the one! I actually liked it better in the other picture. (The one with smaller wheels) Thanks for posting.

Re: WIW - 86 Silverado

Thanks guys,

Based on what I could see in person, not withstanding the paint blem, it was
one of the nicest trucks I have ever seen for a 21 year old unmolested rig. I
made an offer of $7500 against his $9500 asking price and was told He!! no.

I just walked away.

And you were right to. Its still a smog era truck (albeit a darn nice one), not a 72 Z-28 or Cheyenne Super or something.

Ebay has made lots of people think anything older than 15 years old is worth a fortune

Re: WIW - 86 Silverado

anybody that would pay $9,500 for that truck is crazy. definately a nice truck but no where near that price. it's worth between $4000-$5000, no more. mabe if the body and paint was perfect and all power accessories maybe around $8000.

The sticker on my 86 K-10 was only 14,150.00 when it was brand new. I was thinking 4,000 -5,000 if you REALLY wanted it. The paint hurts it bad in my opinon! $7500 was a gift!!!

I agree you made a good move. I'd easily pay that for the same truck in this area but no more. Did you leave your number in case he changes his mind?

I agree with everyone else $9500 is way too high. Your offer might be a little on the high side too.
