Question A couple of lowering questions...

I found some lowering springs for my '69 C-20, finally. I'd like to go with a 2-4 drop. Questions are: Will I need to relocate the shocks in the back? Do I need an adjustable panhard bar?
I assume I won't need to c-notch it...

No notch will be needed. I don't think it would hurt to relocate the shock mounts, and why not add the adjustable panhard bar while you're at it.

Check out ECE, and give them a phone call. They will be able to answer your question without hesitation. They are a great bunch of guys.

Thanks for the reply. What's involved with relocating the shock mounts, would I have to weld them?

ECE, (Early Classic Enterprises) shock relocators are a bolt on. But the original brackets are riveted to the frame. This will require them to be ground off ,torched off, or air chiseled off. A 2 inch drop spring in the front,... MAY not be two inches lower than your 39 year old sagging springs. I always suggest looking on ECE's website at their "stance" photos. This will give you a good idea what to expect with their drop suspension products. It almost never fails when someone does a 2"/4" drop they usually want to go lower.

ECE's stance photos are a great way picture what your truck will look like. What purpose will your truck serve? Daily driver, work, play? That will help to determine the best drop for you.

Truck is a daily driver, it's gotta earn it's keep. I'm still thinking about it. I might want to go lower if I do this, and maybe add helper airbags. I definitely want to keep the truck 3/4 ton...

Well, went to a meet Sat. and met some board members. There were some great trucks. I was checking out VDOG's C-10 lowered 3"-4" and I think that might do it for me. Will I have any issues with rubbing or alignment if I go for this drop with coils? I'm running 265/70R16's, about 30" in diameter..,.

The alignment will have to be redone with the drop. I don't have any rubbing issues with 2/4. Don't see anything close to it. A lot of people run 4/6 with no problem.
