Re: My wife thinks i'am nuts
My wife thinks I'm nuts too but I was before we were married, there's nothing she can do about it!
Is that a paint you put on those column parts?

Re: My wife thinks i'am nuts
sand blasted everything ....primed and high build primer on outer shell...hand sanded the indicator and shift housing, started with 400 then 600 then 1000,1500...then on to a buffing wheel with medium compound...then polishing compound....still need to do the pivot area...and paint all the steel parts black

Re: My wife thinks i'am nuts
I am in the same boat... I had a ton of parts laying around and I really have no room to store them... So I bought a rot bucket for the frame and title. My plan was to just make a Shop truck/driver, you know nothing too nice and already found it is so easy to starting heading the wrong direction... The snowball starts picking up speed in a hurry!

Re: My wife thinks i'am nuts
Talk about the same boat???????
Back in Aug Girlfriend said she was giving her car to her oldest son. Said that she would find an old beater to run back and forth to work. I told her I would give her my 2004 Cavalier to run back and forth to work if I could buy an "old truck" she thought that would be cool. (that was then) Now I found a great deal on Ebay believe it or not.. It's the Burb in the Avatar 3800 as you see it.. Now with that said I also was bidding on an old 68 C10 and didn't expect to win it.... course you know that I did.... So the Burb Shows up and within hours it is in storage. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT best deal of my entire life.. Anyhow I'm leaving the same day to go and pick up my 68. I get it home and I have been working in it regurlarly since.. She thinks I'm nuts, Beautiful 1961 Suburban with 49,000 original miles on it sits in storage. meanwhile I'm buying and researching parts and peices for the old rusty piece of crap that is MY TRUCK.... Why is it, when I tell her thats all I'm doing I'm done. She doesn't realize that I mean for that moment????? |

Re: My wife thinks i'am nuts
I told my wife that I was just going to remove one cab and replace it with the other. Currently the new cab, sandblasted frame, new 383, 700r4 are all at the paint shop. Did I mention the new wiring and future power windows?

Re: My wife thinks i'am nuts
I think what everyone on here is trying to say is we are all nuts! and to put it simply the women we are married to, married us with full knowledge of just how crazy we are so it is their problem to deal with! If she gives you too many problems about your project ask her if she would prefer you spent time with an old chevy or a young woman!

Re: My wife thinks i'am nuts
Yep, you're trying to get something started, aren't you? Go ahead, admit it, you just can't leave well-enough alone, can you? You just gotta be stirring up something, right?
