Re: Suicide doors
i still haven't set up the bearclaws but the hinges work well the only problem if found was if you weld the top hinge to the door frame you cant get the the pin and if you need to replace the bushes at any stage you wouldn't be able so i bolted the top hinge so its removable hope this helps

Can your doors open 90 degrees, or do they contact the body? Also, do you have to have large slots cut into the door to make the hinges work? Sorry to hound you with all these questions, but I'm trying to plan and buget alot of upcoming work on my truck. Thanks, Rob |

Re: Suicide doors
Looks like it should work out just fine for you. I like the cross brace over to the stock hinge bracing, good work! One concern I have is with the lower hinge it looks like you welded the brace to the outer door skin. Do you think that if the door flex's that that will cause damage to the outer skin after paint. Reason I ask is I tacked a brace to the door skin once and just from heat and cold it showed thru down the road.

Re: Suicide doors
the only bracing that is welded to the outer skin is the top hinge and that is welded to the old door handle position
all the bracing it welded to the frame thanx. the kit was from autoloc and it was $400 new Zealand dollars i guess i was it the right place at the right time cause they normally sell for $800-$850 thanx
