Re: PLEASE POST ! vintage (BACK IN THE DAY) photo's with our 67 to 72 truck's

Here's some old pics from my now sold 71 K20. I had to sell it after a long frame up resto, and it turns out the grandson of the original owner saw it listed on Craigslist.

He thought "this looks just like my old grandpa's truck", and he pulled out some old pictures and sure enough, the license plates were a dead match.

So when he shows up at my house he was all tears (understandably so), and tells me of the great memories he had with his now passed on grandpa in this old truck. He had spent long road trips fishing, camping, etc. sitting in the middle between his grandparents.

I guess he learned how to drive in the family truck, and was bummed when they sold it in 1984.

He bought it on the spot. Here's the pics he sent me afterward...

Re: PLEASE POST ! vintage (BACK IN THE DAY) photo's with our 67 to 72 truck's

I've posted these before.
My dad in 1969 selling these trucks and camper's for Evertt Chevorlet in Hickory NC. The little honda was given to him for selling them. He worked for GM in the Chevorlet division in trucks and was the instructor in Charlotte NC for a few years.

This picture was him at our house in Charlotte NC when I was about 9 or 10. His company truck parked in the background. 1964 SS Impala convertable right behind him, a station wagon and my mom's 68 camaro was in the garage.

Here are some better pictures of the other cars. My dad the day he left Yazoo Miss. for Detroit to start work for GM.
My mom's 396 RS/SS.
That's my brother's wife on the impala.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: PLEASE POST ! vintage (BACK IN THE DAY) photo's with our 67 to 72 truck's

I have a few. I posted them summer 06 when Grandad passed away.

This is a 68 GMC work truck he had. Not sure of the photo date:

Here he is with is 69 he bought new:

It was red but he was notorious for repainting his cars with what ever paint he had and repainted it mint green. This is the truck he and my Grandma drove us kids around town in all the time. I have a clear memory of the dash because that was all i could see.

Here is another of the same truck with my Dad's 46. The 46 is another truck I would like to have some day. This photo was taken in the late 70s or early 80s not sure. Dad sold the 46 in '83.

Both of these truck are the reason I am so into these truck today.

Re: PLEASE POST ! vintage (BACK IN THE DAY) photo's with our 67 to 72 truck's

I dont have any pic`s but the earliest memories I have are of my grndfathers lime green I believe cheyanne fully loaded. I remember it so well as we spent many camping trips in the camper, I was only 3 thru 11 years old at the time. but I remember everything from the burnouts (he loved swowing off the rebuilt engine) to the clinking noise the firehydrant strap made driving down the road. This truck is why I`m a die hard chevy and currently drive a 67 longbed custom cab. wish I had some pic`s to post for you guys
