Nice Cowl and Wiper Move?
Nice cowl on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA:IT&ih=007 But has anyone seen the moving of the wiper before? I searched and didn't see any reference to this in the archives. Sure enough I have an extra hole to move my wiper into. What do I need to accomplish besides a longer wiper arm? Thanks |

Re: Nice Cowl and Wiper Move?
You'll have to redo the linkage arms inorder to get the correct movement. The extra wiper hole was there to reverse the wiper positions (both shifted to the left) for the Austrialian or right-hand drive versions of the trucks.

I don`t understand why anyone would want to move the wiper location. What are you trying to accomplish from this??I`m confused. Some things are best left alone, that`s all I know.

It's all about being a little differant from the rest of us. I had the guy that painted my truck the last time to louver the cowl to match the hood. He did but it kept cracking so I trashed it.

Seems to me that there would be a big spot in the center of the windshield that would not get the water wiped off it?

Re: Nice Cowl and Wiper Move?
Funny how he says he has done several of these but only includes the cowl and not all the needed bell cranks for convertig it over. The cowl is the easy part to make but the bell crank with the proper ratio is another story. I had about 10+ hours developing the proper ratio and bell crank so the wippers will move even but not touch when they come to center.
As far as the extra hole being for RHD models I have never seen one and the holes are not evenly swapped if you were to do a RHD. Also their is not a provision for the motor. I think they just re-used part of the mold from teh 60-66's! But have never looked into it. But they are a center rest type of set up. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: Nice Cowl and Wiper Move?
I gettin' my cowl shaved but it's to keep the trash out of the kick panels. Didn't even think twice about relocating the wipers. Having them move in/out in unison may be cool to the craftsman who did the work, but having three holes for wipers.....why not have three wipers like Jaguar had? That would be trick....or not. Wipers would have to be shorter to work together, but maybe a chopped top would benefit from them, or a short person who could just barely see over the dash.

Re: Nice Cowl and Wiper Move?
i shaving the vents as well but i am leaving the wiper holes in stock location
here is my photochop i did , the guy that drives the gray silverado behind the c-10 does body work and is helping me with thepick-up i agree with the thought that there might be a big spot in the middle that wouldn't get cleaned but maybe not
