Hot Rod 6 cyl.
anybody out there got hot-rodded 6-cyl trucks?>
i KNOW some of those sixs can make serious power...but i never see them in the forums. LETS SEE SOME PICTURES. & NUMBERS

i duno about hot rod....but i did some minor head work to my lil 250....port/polish valve job..new dual springs.rebuilt the carb...3 inch flowmaster....some other minor things runs real strong. its no V8 but it easily sets the tires <tire> on fire....and pulls strong

i know a guy who runs 3 quads on a 250 in a '64 Chevy II. he runs in the 12's, but that was before he freshened the engine.
never under estimate a 6...especially a long stoke 292 thats breathing good. couple that with the right gears, and nothing will catch you... ..until you hit 60 mph. lol. i'm gonna be watching this thread...i'm a sucker for a six. -Sam.

I just bought a clifford intake for my 250. Its the 6=8 with a 450 holley on top. Does anybody know what kind of difference I can expect?

I'll have one soon enough. I just need to decide if I'm going to turbocharge it or not. Does anyone have any info on turbocharging a 250 with a blow through setup, other than read the Santucci book?(I've read it cover to cover a few times.)

the clifford, with it's larger plenum size, is more of a high rpm intake, whereas the Offenhauser is a low-mid range intake. that aside, you should expect some good improvements, it's helping the engine breath. as long as you have the subsequent exhaust flow out (headers). Kyull67 - I hate to turn people away from the forum to another, and i'm sure you've heard it before, but www.inliners.org is the best place for inline hop-up, in my opinion. if i'm not mistaken, there are plenty of guys running turboed 6's, with blow throughs. a whole section of the board is devoted to forced induction. that being said, good looking set up. -Sam.

a friend of mine has a hot straight 6. He picked it up for 200 bucks and it has 335 HP. its going into his 62 nova. cool car with a cool engine.

You'd need the L6 motor mount towers. Other than that it shouldn't be that complicated. The L6 block has the same bolt pattern for the bellhousing as just about any chevy transmission.
