Installing a new (uncut) dash on a 72?

Is this something that is a pain in the butt? I have access to a good dash for free out of a 68. Is there any issues installing it into a 72? How do you go about doing it?
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Installing a new (uncut) dash on a 72?

The only issue that I can think of is the 67-68 dash is not set up for the pedel style Ebrake. The 67/68s are hand brakes. Should only have to drill an extra hole though... WES

Is it just the center section that is bad on yours? If so then I feel the easiest way is to just swap out the middle of the dash. If you do the entire thing you will have to pull the front window and drill out all the stop welds that hold the dash in place. Then do the same to teh dash you are going to use to put back in. If you just do the center section you can cut it behind the dash pad, glove box door and cluster. This only leaves about 6" of weld that has to be finished and the front window can stay in!

Re: Installing a new (uncut) dash on a 72?

Well, just got back from picking up the doors and the dash is cut for a stereo. The PO said that it wasn't.....Oh Well, It was free.

Kevin, thanks for the advise. It would make more sence to just replace the center instead of the whole thing.
