Pulled My Engine & Trans ??? Value
I pulled my 350 and the granny 4spd today at the hobby shop on base. Everything went fine.
I am switching to automatic 700r4 tranny and I notice the 4 speed tranny mount needs to be remove but it is not held in by bolts. How did you guys remove this bracket that the 4spd mounts to? Also how much is a granny 4spd worth?

start grinding away.......or if you're good with a torch, burn the rivet heads off and use a punch to knock out the remaining part of the rivet.

Re: Pulled My Engine & Trans ??? Value
Granny 4 speeds are a dime a dozen because many people want to do exctly what you are doing with them (ditch them in favor of something more modern)
Maybe a C-note or two if someone really needs one

Hay 70C10Step, I take it you are a Vandy-Land, at least that is what we call it from up here at Hill AFB. I sometimes go TDY to there. Try to look you up next time I come down. Have a Great New Year!

Will do, I had better get out to the shop myself. Have to let the heaters warm a bit before I start to work. I know you are not having that issue down there. Its snowing here.

granny 4 speed brings bout 35-50 around here. it all depends who needs one at the time you're selling one.

Re: Pulled My Engine & Trans ??? Value
I will be over at Hill in a month or so for a meeting. It is a little windy here right now... I am swapping in a 350 and 700r4 while I decide whether to build a 454 stroker or a 350 stroker. Big block is going to win but I still have to ponder a little..

Re: Pulled My Engine & Trans ??? Value
Sounds good, see you then. Remember it will still be cold here. I am lucky to have a 30' by 48' shop with "some" heat.
