Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

I got these in today. This is the test mold I am going to check it against my trucks and once tested they should be online for sale. They are designed to mount in the recessed area of the original panel as pictured. Let me know what you think...

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

They haven't gotten a price on them. I just knew there was a demand and had them make them. They should be inline with our current offereing though. Once we get them fitted I will post the pricing/link to the catalog...

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

Chris, a couple questions?

1. Why are these called Silverado kick panels...and what is the difference between a Silverado kick panel and a non-Silverado kick panel? Do only Silverado's have kick panels...hence the name?

2. What is the difference between these and the Roddoors speaker pods, they look very similar?

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

81-91 Silverado panels are full panels that go to the floor, all of them had this. What I am calling non-Silverado panels only have half a panel and the Rod Door piece work fine on them - 73-80. These are the same as the Rod Door a for as the speaker section goes since Rod Doors is making them for me, except they mount in the recess of the original panel.

Need a pic for comparison?

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

very cool! i made same thing out of fiberglass couple years ago, but need to be redone as the e-brake pedal hits the pod. also want to get 6" to replace the 5.25's. these will be my best option time wise.

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

What size speaker will fit in the panels. Look like 5 1/4" to me. Have any diameter and depth measurements?

Same as the originals, 6.5" There is a slight modification they will have to make to them the drivers side needs a hair of adjustment to clear the bottom of the E-brake (like 3/16") and the front leading edge needs to be flattened on the passenger side and drivers side..

Forgive me if this is redundent but I'm just learning about these trucks.

My long term goal is to dress my truck up a little at a time. I have an non-air 85 Custom Deluxe LB. The kick panels in my truck do not come all the way down to the floor.

I understand your speaker mounts fit the Silverado equiped truck with the longer style kick panels.

First will the longer Silverado kick panels fit my truck no modification? And your speaker mounts will fit on the longer Silverado kick panels right?

I have only had my truck 2 months and wished I had got a truck a long time ago. It is much more fun to work on than a car!

What's the driver side one look like? How's the E-brake clearance on yours?

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

The drivers side has the same speaker angle and the e-brake does hit. I never use the e-brake, and i wanted it to have the same angle as the other side. If i would of wanted the clearance for the e-brake i would of used a smaller speaker or changed the angle of the speaker which i didn't like. I had them speakers laying around so i used what i had. I'm thinking about getting some 5 1/4" 3-ways and making another set.

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

Ok, I got the last iteration of these this past week. They will require some trimming to get the to fit perfectly since they are cut out of a mold, but in less than 20 minutes of trimming both were put into place. They are just "popped" in there with nothing holding them, just wanted to show what they look like installed.

They should be in the catalog this weekend.

Nice, I'll be needing some of those. for you guys with speakers that hit the e-brake, why not modify the brake pedal?

Thumbs up Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon

Hey Chris,

How do you secure them to the stock panel and keep them from falling out once the weight of a speaker is on it?

And what's the price gonna be for a pair or each?

Tnkx.
Bruce.
