Oil Weight?
What weight oil are you guys running in your trucks? I have been running Rotella 15w-40 in the warmer months and just switched to 10w-30 for my morning start ups. It's been in the 20's here in GA the past few mornings. I would like to know how light I can go. Would 5w-20 be too light for out engines? I have an early model built 350. Thanks guys-

Re: Oil Weight?
Rarely gets into the 20s here. I use 10-30 all year now in pretty fresh 350. I used to go with 20-50 Castrol GTX in summer (100+ Deg.) I think 10-30 would be right for you too.

Re: Oil Weight?
In my truck, which gets a couple of starts per year at -10F and below, I run 10w30 year round.
My daily driver, a 94 Escort that gets a couple of starts per year at -20F and below, gets 5w30 year round. The '04 Explorer I maintain for my wife gets 5w20 year round because that is what Ford specs for it. I'd stick with 10w30 in the winter down there in an older 350. Or a newer 350 for that matter.
