Question 72 Plastic Door Panels...

Can anyone tell me if pre-1972 door panels will fit into my 72 C10? I like the looks of the padded leather panels from the earlier years over the plastic molded panels of 72.

On a side note...does any one know where I can get panels for less than $180!

Re: 72 Plastic Door Panels...

The only difference is in the length of the shafts for the window winder and door handle.The`72s are longer because of the molded panel profile.

So you know, it isn't leather. It's vinal. (pet peeve of mine) But it is in a simulated leather grain.
The mounting holes for the panel and arm rest will not be the same, but it's a minor issue. A few nutserts will provide the threaded holes in the door.

Re: 72 Plastic Door Panels...

I also like the earlier year panels (Metal). I needed two new doors for my 72 C10 and found doors to a 68 with metal panels. I just got my order in with new window and door regulators since they are shorter than the 72's (I needed new ones anyways) and new arm rests. I like the simplicity of the arm rests on the 68's. Both doors are being prepped for paint as well as the panels right now. I can't wait!
