Re: This is some SERIOUS custom paint

I think it is SICK! Someone should do that to a 67-72 c10.

Re: This is some SERIOUS custom paint

No offense to the artist, the work is nice, but I'm wondering what the heck some of it is. Looks like those are supposed to be rusty scratches? I have some of those

Reminds me of brand new designer jeans with rips and grease stains on em.

Amazing all the money spent... I guess if I was young and lived in California I might enjoy some of that glitz and gimickry, but in old age, I prefer simplicity...

Re: This is some SERIOUS custom paint

How about this. This guy must of had a lot of time off from work to do all this cutting and fabing. He must have just bought a plasma cuter!!!
Why would anybody want a hood like that?
Craftsmenship is great...the why is something else!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

That hood is the perfect example of,"just because you can, doesn't mean you should." The same goes for mounting TV screens in every available space.

What ever happened to the customs of the 50's, where you made everything as subtle as possible? That's what I love. Clean, smooth, and simple.

Re: This is some SERIOUS custom paint

idk alot of people my age(16) think this is cool but i dont.
i think it is cool to put alot of time and effort into something and end with a result, like a 500hp engine if a frame up resoration but not paint like that, dont get my wrong i appicate a good paint job but that is to far in my book.

since the engine is probably bone stock(maybe a k&n aircleaner) i would put all that money towards speed not look

Re: This is some SERIOUS custom paint

Oh and about the original post... I kinda like the paint. I don't understand the black "racing flag?" area on the rear, but I get the rusty scratches and the faces. Would I drive it around? No. Would I pay to have it done? No. Would I appreciate the time and imagination it took? Of course.

Re: This is some SERIOUS custom paint

In the late 60's early 70's customs went to an "Over the top" attitude. They were so modified that they could not be driven. Some of them didn't even have running engines or were never run if they did.The pink crushed velvet interior would not have even been noticed. It would have been too mild.Think of the "Roth" bubbletops and even Darrel Starbirds creations.
The paint shows a lot of craftsmanship and artistic talent but seems like it would be more at home in an art gallery.
