Re: 84 c10 headlight conversion problem
You will need to look for a grounding problem, for a start. The bulb is glowing but not illuminated is hinting that you are feeeding back through the light for your ground circuit.

Re: 84 c10 headlight conversion problem
hello,,that most certainly sounds like grounding to me,,gonna have
to keep tracing, making sure all connections are good, tight, and clean.. one other thing i just remembered, the connector that goes on back of the headlight itself,i had one that when u went to push it onto headlight it was pushing the wire back into the connector and not onto the headlight. Re: 84 c10 headlight conversion problem
yeah thats what i was thinking. i got two grounds running from the radiator support to the wiring harness and another one from the battery to the support also. i connected all the wires right i believe. um they are basic colors so i just colored matched them. the only thing that i can think of is that the burban has an extra bulb that goes to the front turn signal i believe. im talking about the one that is located under the headlights. thanks

Re: 84 c10 headlight conversion problem
I have a similar problem with my basic stock 85 CK10. Dash lights do not work except the heater control, turn indicators are dimly lit, brite lite indicator is lit on low beams but go off with hi beams. All exterior lights work, including turn signals and backup lights. Fuses are good. Everything was fine until about two months ago, then this all started happening. Truck runs like a new one so I want to keep it. I did run an extra ground from flasher/fuse box to dash metal for ground, but no help. Any help?
