Shout out to the newbies and not quite newbies

First off welcome to the board. Im not good at greeting people so Ill just lump you all in

Now down to business. I probably bring this up too often for some peoples liking, but here it comes again.

Please support the board vendors. I see so many newer people using or suggesting to use vendors that are not BOARD vendors. Does this mean these other businesses are bad? Well of course not.

Our board vendors are the people that have their names in red. These people pay a fee to 67-72chevytrucks.com so they can sell their parts here. This fee helps in the upkeep of this board that we all like to hang out on. They have all the same stuff the other guys have and more. These guys really know our trucks and freely give out advice to us not so knowledgeable folks.

Look, at least give our vendors first chance when you're shopping for parts. You help them and you help our favorite board.

No Im not a board vendor. Click the link and scroll down for a list.

Re: Shout out to the newbies and not quite newbies

We use LMC catalogs for reference (thanks for the pictures). Then, buy from someone who knows and likes these trucks as much as we do.Those big catalog companies are better known due to their widespread catalog marketing program and other advertising. The board vendors advertise here.Kinda like our own private vendors, although we are not all their business.

I always recommend LMC for their catalogs as reference. I don't buy from them unless I can't get it anywhere else. I do try to support board vendors if at all possible.

Great post CG. The only thing i can add is that most things are cheaper thru the BB vendors.

Re: Shout out to the newbies and not quite newbies

It's a good post with a timely message. I shop the websites of those who are on the board and those who aren't. Where I buy what I buy is driven entirely by the prices I find.

I have been using this site for about 4 months and had no idea about the venders and their connection with the site. Thanks for the information, I will have a look at what is available from these venders before my next purchase.

Re: Shout out to the newbies and not quite newbies

Another thing to point out, there are good buisnesses, and bad buisnesses, this is true in all walks of life, and all lines of work. The powers that be, make sure that the vendors listed on here, are good repubatle people, and not some fly by night place that won't answer the phone when you have a problem.
Mark... very good thread. I went to give you rep points.. but I guess I've given you some recently.

To the top one more time.

I get no discount from the vendors for posting this, I just think its the right thing to do for the board.

Oh and thanks for the rep points...not needed at all...but they are kinda cool. =)

Re: Shout out to the newbies and not quite newbies

I have been lucky so far because a guy has a business about 25 miles from me that deals exclusively with 67-72 Chevy/GMC parts.

I usually try him first because I can see the parts before I buy them. I like to try to support local businesses whenever possible.

If he doesn't have what I need then I am glad there are vendors on this board that are so knowledgeable and helpful.

Re: Shout out to the newbies and not quite newbies

As mentioned by someone else, I too buy for price but I also look for knowledge, attention to detail and integrity. These are commodities also and they are sooo lacking in the 'Big Box" parts dealers. The site vendors are part of our family and my loyalty they shall receive.

Thanks CG for spot-lighting our great group of vendors!
