To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
*** For Sale Ad: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/c...ct=2373&cat=12 ***
1970 Suburban (GMC) 102K original miles. 402 BBC,Turbo 400, factory air, power steering, power brakes, 3.73 posi, front sway bar, roof rack, liftgate/tailgate, heavy duty hitch, trailer brakes (haven't tested). Motor runs smooth and doesn't smoke when started. Engine/Transmission fluid and filters changed. New fuel pump. 30 inch glasspacks. Everything seems to work (AM radio, b/u lights, all gauges, interior lights, emergency brake...), a/c blows cold. No rust in the floors or braces. The only rust is in the rear quarters and the rockers - all rust seems to be exterior. R/

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
no way man, dont part that thing, its in too good of shape. restore that baby. you could do a very good 100% original complete matching numbers burb and sell it for some decent money. thats what i'd do if i ran across it. well, good luck.

Don't part that suburban man. That burb looks way better than mine. My burb is all rusted, no aircondition, and i still would not part mine.

That looks way to nice to part out. You could clean it up and get more than you paid for it. You just have to know when to stop!!

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
if you part it pm me, would be interested in the a/c unit for the burb I got from 70rs/ss. I have a few interesting things for trade..........I figure the A/C unit is worth between 6 to 8 hundred depending on the visual shape of the roof unit.
thanks, Steve |

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
clean it up and sell it whole.
Rob the motor and slap in a small block... sell it whole Fix it up and keep it, resist the temptation to 'do it up' Please don't part that sucker, not enough of them out there, and it is pretty nice. |

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
I think everyone here has the same consensus. DONT PART.
Obviously it IS yours and you can do as you please. But I'd say don't part it as well. It's way too nice to part out IMHO. |

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
WHen I see a suburban that has been brought back to life, I sometimes wish that I would have bought one instead of a truck. As they say build them, don't crush them.

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
I would love to build it, but I've come to the realization that, while a man can't have to many toys.......... he can have to many projects. That's the biggest reason I sold my 52. Sad thing about parting it is, it's worth more as parts, than it is all together. I'm going to piddle around with it this weekend and hopefully come up with a plan.
R/ Edit: more pics

Re: To build, or to part..............??????!!!!!
I'd like to have that 402....
I have the original (numbers matching) 350 in my truck, but a big block just gets my grin going.... Alas, too far away to make any dealing a reality. I understand the "too many" projects concept. Been guilty of being there. Can only do one thing at a time; right now, surviving as a semi-retiree is just about it.

That thing would look great in the lot behind my shop! Of course, like all the other ones, it would have some over the top build planned...and probably never happen!

mpvco needs it! Remember he's the board member in Pensacola who woke to the sounds of a drunk taking out three of his vehicles and some fence, minutes after the Pensacola cops let the drunk go without detaining him.
