I'm also running a Mustang tank on my truck. I've got the late '60s version which is 20-22 gallons, I can't remember.

Re: what gas tank are you running?

I picked up the blazer tank at the one of the Goodguys show from www.truckandcarshop.com .. You can use this link to see it in the frame. I have not driven the truck yet and I do not have the fill hooked up yet. What you see in the picture is what I have done. http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...t=000_0345.jpg

Re: what gas tank are you running?

21 gallon Blazer tank kit from LMC. Comes with everything needed including the sender. I know there are cheaper parts out there, but the "kit" made it really easy with no running around. For 200 clams, it's tough to beat. Here's the link.

Stainless tank from Rick's Hot Rod Shop, with intank EFI pump. Two senders, one for stock gages and one for computer. Expensive but good work.

It worked on my truck because I made the frame wider behind the notch to match the rest of the frame.

That install looks good.....I like where the fill ends up too.

Where is the fuel delivery located ??

Here is the tank we used on my customers '67....a little too pricey for me.....I really like the 'stang tank though !!!!

Re: what gas tank are you running?

I bought an aluminum from Brothers. I had to notch the mounting plates for the leaf sprig hangers. Used stainless for plumbing to the frame mounted fuel pump and filter.

I haven't but I believe the ones in the Blazer/Tahoe and the Suburban will be too wide to fit the older frames. I have plans of installing a '96 Vortec in my '66 C20 also. One idea I had was to possibly install the sender and pump unit from a Blazer/Tahoe or Suburban into a '69-'72 Blazer tank. I just haven't gotten around to comparing the depths of the two. If that doesn't work I'll just build a tank.

Which tank do you have?

Re: what gas tank are you running?

The 66 mustang tank is very easy to install. Just bolts to the bottom of the frame and does not hang low at all. It does not use straps and you can buy one for around a hundred bucks. They also make an after market in the tank fuel pump for fuel injection.

I am trying to find more info on this mustang tank swap mentioned above. I have heard the frame has to be widened? Do you have any pics?

Thanks
