6 Lug Disc Brake Conversion Question!!!

okay guys, here's the story. Got my 6 lug, disc brake conversion from GMCPauls, thanks Amber! Got a proportioning valve from CPP. Good there too.

Now it comes to plumbing the proportioning valve. It appears as if I will have to run a line from each front brake to separate inlets into the proportioning valve. (My '69 only had one outlet for the front and one for th rear).

Okay, the lines run from each front brake caliper to a central tee at the frame and then ONE line goes up to the proportioning valve.


Now, am I going to have to remove the tee and run 2 separate lines to the prop valve? Will I need to get brake lines bent for a '71 - '72??

Can you show a picture of the prop valve you have? It should have 1 line from front of M/C to valve and one line from back of m/c to the prop valve. These should travel down the frame and tee to the front lines and hoses and the rear line should follow the crossmember have a union near starter and travel to the rear of the truck. The 71-72 lines are very similar to the earlier models in routing , and there are NOT two lines coming from the front brakes to the prop valve, only one.

plugged off at the proportioning valve and the left front line
will go to a “T” fitting. From the “T” fitting, the front lines
then split off and go to the left and right wheels. "
