anyone with an installed magnaflow system?
I am having problems getting mine on, and was wondering if you could show me some pictures of where your tailpipes come out, or how they go over the axle if possible. Mine are ending up about half way between the back of the fender well, and the back of the bed. I'm thinking they are supposed to be closer to the fender well.
Thanks in advance! |

Re: anyone with an installed magnaflow system?
Jim,
Is your truck a short bed? The kit is designed for a long bed and must be cut behind the exhaust manifolds/headers. My brother has the kit on his short stepside, but I'm unable to post pics from work. Pete |

Re: anyone with an installed magnaflow system?
It's a long bed. I started off with tri-y's that are shorter than full-length headers, so I actually had to lengthen it.
I think if I could get some pics of where the tailpipes are supposed to exit in reference to the wheel well, that would give me an idea of how they are to be routed over the axle. As of now the tailpipes hit the frame on the pass. side, and the trac-bar on the drivers side. Something is either too long, or too short. |

I see what you're saying. I wish I could get a pic on a hoist for you, but the truck is in storage for the winter.
I'll post up a pic of the tailpipe exit location as soon as I get home tonight. Bye the way, the system sounds real sweet when it's all hooked up! Pete |

Jim,
Here's a couple of pics showing where the tailpipes on the Magnaflow system dump out. Hope they help you out. Pete |

Re: anyone with an installed magnaflow system?
Both sets helped much! Thanks - Based on these pics, I must be close, I think what I need to do is get the x-pipe a little more towards the front, so I can get the mufflers closer to the driveshaft. That will keep the one away from the frame, and the other away from the track bar.
Nice trucks too, guys! |

Re: anyone with an installed magnaflow system?
I ordered my new Magnaflow kit off ebay a month ago, got it and can't wait to put it on. I have a longbed, so hopefully it will be fairly simple to install. Shock Me and Haysonj have good lookin exhaust.

My x-pipe was too far back, I moved everything front about 5", and it fits perfectly now. The instructions suck bigtime. I will get good pics of all of this so hopefully others won't have to beat themselves up like I did Happy camper once again P.S. I got mine for $400 from ebay delivered! -- made a best offer, and it was accepted immediately. |

Re: anyone with an installed magnaflow system?
THat's great Jim! Looking forward to the pics.
Just an FYI for those who want to install this kit with an ECE rear drop and Super Track Bar installed; the passenger side tailpipe needs to be cut and altered at the last bend in the pipe so it will clear the Track Bar. We also had to cut off the old panhard bar mounting tab on the truck's rearend to get the fit we needed. Cheers, Pete |
