Re: Which paintjob should we do?
If you gotta have Coca-Cola I'd say only white. Flat black and the Coca-Cola art just clash to me.
But, forget about Coca-Cola in my opinion and go with either of the flat blacks.

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
the thing is, we're not really fond of the red color, I thought black and white would be a pretty decent, and different, idea for the truck. Apparently most of you guys like the traditional look.

I think for Coke you have to use Red somewhere. The white and red looks cool to me.

yeah, if you must have coke on it, red lettering and white background looks best to me.

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
just the fact that my boyfriend [owner of said truck] loves Coke.. that's about it. lol- we wanted to ask coke first before we actually put it on the paint; plus, we're nowhere near that stage yet. Just getting an idea for where we want it on the exterior. We have like 12 or so different renditions, they all range from dragons to anime, to coke, and back to classic truck colors, avoiding red like the plague the whole time. lol
otherwise, we have the black one linked in my sig [probably not going to go with that particular pinstripe.. pac-man anyone?] or this one, you see in my avatar, with his signature/logo on the side. We're still undecided about the C10 emblem though, we'll probably get the '66 model for the C10s, because it looks better up there, than it does where it is, imo. After-all, the truck is a 66; one of the last panels made. also - odds are, at most, this thing will get lowered like 4"- my boyfriend, for some odd reason, is against bagging it, so this stance won't be accurate either.

I like the white. Maybe you should consider R&R & Coke or Mac Daddy & Coke....

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
Do you really need both the Coke's on it? How 'bout just the small one on the door? And, maybe that one a little smaller. The way it is now, it looks like a rolling billlboard to me. Only other thing you need on there is: 2 liter bottles on sale this week $1 ea

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
He must really like Coca-Cola, to put the logo an a masterpiece like that. In any case, good luck.
A good friend of mine likes J&B scotch & water, so he put J&B and Water on his 540 (54') SeaRay boat. He must really like his scotch and water. Maybe your boyfriend likes a little hooch with his Coca-Cola...just a thought. Last edited by LILRED66; 02-09-2008 at 11:59 PM. |

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
Coke logos aside, I like the 50/50 black/white split. The black just looks badass with wheels of that style.

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
lol; it was supposed to be like an old delivery truck.. thus the weathered look to the text. So i guess it would be okay that it looks like a bilboard - we were going to just do an old coke ad on the back; like the old school pin-up style ones. If you've ever been to Ruby's restaurant chain, there's your example of what I mean.

My vote is for the white, but I'm partial to the old patina white look.

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
No one may call you on it but what you are considering doing is probably illegal. Coka Cola is a registered trademark. Just something to think about.

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
It is illegal without permission....but as someone else said, you would have to be called out on it. Yellow with red lettering was a Coca-Cola option and actually the correct colors used on your year/era of truck. Might try photoshop with that combo. You could probably get a release from C.C. if you show them a design ahead of time. There are many vehicles done up in this style, so it probably isn't a big deal to them. My wife and I have been avid C.C. collectors for years, and love to see these old vehicles done in this style. Jerry

Re: Which paintjob should we do?
lmao - that's the whole problem; we don't like those particular colors on vehicles.. lol
we wanted to have it unique, not just flat black/white.. ya know? We had intended on getting permission from Coke; We're still trying to figure out whether we want to do Cherry Coke or not though.. still debating a LOT. He says that his brother already has a 15 speed dr pepper mtn bike. he says thats good enuf for his family.
