Re: door hing pillar
I am thinking that you would have to find used,or fabricate your own.
If you hold up your new rocker to the new floor pan, you should see that the rocker makes up alot of the hinge pillar that is missing. (I hope the rockers that you have are the full size type, that go up the hinge pillar and back of the cab. the only other piece that you can buy is the foot well, however you could just make yourself a paper pattern and cut it out of 18 guage to save time and money,it is just a flat triangle shaped piece. good luck, I just got done doing some rust repair, and it is not fun... Re: door hing pillar
has anyone got their cab apart that they could make a paper pattern. I know it's alot to ask, but mine are so shot I don't believe it would do me much good.

Re: door hing pillar
There are no "A" pillar or "B" pillar patch panels being manufactured and offered in the aftermarket. With the rust problems in these areas on the '60-'66 Chevy trucks, someone should produce them. As suggested, you will have to get them from a donor cab or fabricate your own. If you find a cab with good "A" & "B" pillars, you might as well use it instead of cutting them off a good cab and installing them onto a rusty cab.
Good luck with your project. |

Re: door hing pillar
How close are the pillars for the 67-72 trucks? They offer them in after market.

Re: door hing pillar
On either end of the rocker panel, the door jamb runs up the front and back of the cab, creating the door jamb. The "A" pillar is commonly referred to as the hinge pillar and the "B" pillar is commonly referred to as the strike pillar. The lower portion of each, where they meet the rocker, is the problem area. The lower portion of the "A" pillar usually experiences the most rust of the two. A crafty sheet metal man could fabricate them with relative ease.
I hope this information is helpful. |

Re: door hing pillar
I have a few shots of mine , maybe that will help.
the main thing, just get the door rocker and fender to line up. there is a fender mounting piont that needs to be there, the rest you can basically make up out of sheet metal |
