Thumbs up Re: WTB NOS or new.............

there is an aftermarket version available. we had a 71 el camino at work last summer for a-c repairs and our head mechanic found one for it. it doesn't look the same as the original but works fine.check with your local parts stores, if i remember correctly it was a "four seasons" brand piece.

Re: WTB NOS or new.............

Go to salvage yard and unbolt a few from 67 - 78 chevy/gmc cars or trucks. Probably cost you 0- $10 bucks. Most of the salvage guys don't even know what it is. Go to a real hardware store and buy a fitting where it screws in the end of the valve with female threads. This screwed fitting should have a small hole in middle (like 1/4") so you can blow air from an air compressor through it. If the valve opens up when you blow the air, it works. hook it up, vac your ac system, recharge and you're good to go.

I have about 10 of them on parts trucks that I have, but I am looking for a new one for a complete restoration.

Thats a good idea you have though! I would have never known how to test them to see if they were good.

Re: WTB NOS or new.............

These can even be adjusted to use the newer freons. I think an original will look way better than the modern day remakes. I think I have an NOS. Send me a email or private message.

Re: WTB NOS or new.............

Did you call Old Air Products to see if they have any in stock? Pretty pricey.
