6 lug disc brake question
I am thinking about ordering GMCPauls 6 lug front disc conversion. I am going to run manual brakes(no power booster). Does anyone know what year master cylinder/proportioning valve I need to use? I have a 73 c10 master cylinder laying around somewhere, I dont know if it will work.
Thanks for your help, Keith |

Re: 6 lug disc brake question
just performed the exact same swap on my truck. GMCPaul's McGaughy spindle kit and I'm also going non power brake booster as well.
I just went with a 71 1/2 ton truck master cylinder ($17 at the local Oreilly) and a CPP prop valve. haven't road tested it yet, but everything went together like a glove!!

Re: 6 lug disc brake question
been driving the crap out of my truck. I'm quite happy without the power booster. keeps the engine bay uncluttered.

Re: 6 lug disc brake question
How does it do without the power booster? Notice any sluggish response on the brakes or anything?

Re: 6 lug disc brake question
Are you guys using a booster type master cylinder as a manual type? Or are you using a manual drum type master cylinder for a manual disc?
Please explain. Thanks!! |
