new tailgate pics
ok, so it's taken me 9 months or so to post... I know I said something about getting pics up to someone 6 months ago....
well, here they are. I got this off a board member for $75 bucks!!!!!! Then another board member up Toledo stored it for me for a little over a year, he said I have space, I have time, so come get it when you can. Good ppl. I'm tellin you we have good ppl here. i KNOW he wanted to install it on his stuff. (note, pics are from last spring... maybe summer) Big letter GMC, makes it a 69 - 72... not sure if 71 GMCs had the disk brake sticker, if so, then this is is 69 - 70, or 72. Lotsa little scuffs...no real damage the spring loaded bar is there to keep my worthless crap that is ALWAYS in the bed off the tailgate which is posibly worth more than the truck. Look at how close it is to the metal edge on the bed floor... just like it was new! Anyone need a straight edge? here is the only real damage. The round didn't even go through... it just left a small zit on the inside. I've honestly been considering taking the gate off, and getting a junk GMC one. This gate is too nice for the truck, and I am PARANOID that it's gonna get ruined. |

Re: new tailgate pics
LOL... I was wondering if/when someone was gonna pick up the fact that both of my trucks have a red panel on them. My baby sister asked if that is a requirement to be owned by me!
And yes... it IS still red. |

Re: new tailgate pics
YES! That's him. I can never remember his screen name, and he doesn't come around a whole lot.
Hell of a guy. He tossed it in the back of his rig and dropped it off at Cheesewagon's place (tom) and Tom kept it for me. |

Re: new tailgate pics
SWEEEEEEEEEEEET gate! I would just clean it up...weld a washer in the bullet hole and paint it black to match the rest of the truck. It is so much nicer when the paint matches. I put a less than perfect gold gate on my working Longhorn over a perfect blue gate for just that reason. It is nice to have a couple to choose from...LOL!

Nice looking gate.
It adds character to the ole Longhorn. Time to break out the Rustolium again, once you guys warm up up there

Re: new tailgate pics
I think I have a line on a beater gate... this thing is just too dern nice to be on the longhorn. I haul all kinds of crap in it, and the guys at the scrap yard look at me funny when i tell them the tailgate is worth more than they are.
