Tilt vs. regular column question
I noticed that on my non tilt column that there are notches and bumps at the end of the column. I assume that these provide the positive stops for the different gears.
The tilt has no such device and no provision (holes) for it. What serves this function on the tilt?

Re: Tilt vs. regular column question
Yep--the tilt column relies on the transmission internal detents for the shift points.

Re: Tilt vs. regular column question
On tilt columns the detents are on inner tilt housing used with the end of shift lever.
