Is this VIN a 1969 Jimmy 4x4?

I was looking at a Blazer (actually I found out it is a Jimmy) and a lot of things dont add up. It has a 1972 Chevrolet front clip with K/5 badges on side and a "Chevrolet" tail gate. The VIN is CE10DSA22565 and the person selling it was advertising it as a 1969 Chevrolet Blazer 4x4, but I got him to look at the title and he told me it says GMC. By the VIN, is it a GMC and is it a 4x4?
also can ayone tell me how many 1969 jimmy 4x4s were made? Thanks for any help, Mike

Re: Is this VIN a 1969 Jimmy 4x4?

Plenty of people swap the GMC clip to the Chevy clip and the same for the tailgate...

In my opinion, if the title VIN matches the Body VIN - no big deal - in Ohio - those have to match or problems occur with titling

That VIN comes back as a 2wd though - due to the C (should be a K for 4x4)...post up some pix of the thing...

Jimmy numbers are unknown due to (from what I hear) a fire at the document facility (that could be an urban legend though)...

That is correct, as well as no 2wd Blazers were made in '69, only 4x4s.

Re: Is this VIN a 1969 Jimmy 4x4?

My 72 GMC 2wd starts with TCE and I am told that the T indicates GMC C=2wd E=1/2 ton.

IIRC GMC Pauls (a site vendor) has a GMC VIN decoder.

The "T" was used in 1972 only.

HOLY CRAP!!!! Another BKE! I had to take a picture and post it up here for people to believe me. Mine is the same VIN except for sequence. Must have been a '69 thing?

Re: Is this VIN a 1969 Jimmy 4x4?

I have a BKE 1969 Blazer as well. It has the very rare "Color Keyed" two tone interior. It is also a CST. Has anyone found any more info on the BKE vin. By the way my SIN number in the glove box is totally gone so no hope there!

Have you seen anyone else mention the "Color Keyed" two tone interior? I have one of those in CST with Dark Green and Light Aqua interior with Yellow Green Poly paint!

In the first few pages of the LMC Truck catalog it has VIN decoding. According to that, the A means 69 GMC, and the 0D means it's a GMC Fleetside.
