Introduction

Hey there....

Been checking out the forum for a while now and tought I would join since there is a ton of good info. I built a 76 stepside about ten years ago. After college, I moved away and left the truck with pops. Well, it turned into a get the mail truck and lost some of it's quality. We just moved back to WI and the truck will be back in my driveway once the snow melts for a mild face lift. Since I've been out of the loop for a while, I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions.

Attached photos are when the truck was complete back in 1998.

Re: Introduction

to the site! Thats an awesome looking truck you have there. That paint is so deep I almost thought you had a forced air induction hood...but its just the visor reflecting off the hood!

Re: Introduction

Thanks for the comments! The paint is the one thing that the weather hasn't treated very well. It has faded a little since then. So it will either be a really good buff job or a complete repaint.

It has a mild 406 that still pulls pretty good. So it won't take much to bring her back to the way it use to be.

Re: Introduction

Lights are out of a Gremlin. Yes......a little goofy...but they fit well.

I haven't seen another with them and that is the first question most people ask.

Re: Introduction

Thanks again for the comments. The taillights are from a Gremlin. They fit really well in the fenders.

Unfortunately we have 80 inches of snow right now....so it will be a while before it's time to work on it again.

How much of a drop is that, and how did you do it? I really like that chrome fender trim also. Looks great. I would love to get some for my truck.

Re: Introduction

The front was brought down 4" and the back we just did an a flip kit, so it's about 5" in the rear. It's currently sitting on 255's but will get the old 270's back on this spring. The smaller tires made it a little to level for the look.

I usually can't stand visors on trucks, but with the keeping things pretty simple on the outside, it turned out well. Plus it cuts down a ton of glare with such a big windshield.
