Re: clear tails 1972 c10
i think every single vendor sells them.
Here's the list of vendors that support this board. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showgroups.php the ones towards the bottom in red. I'd bet a kick in the daddy parts that they all have them, and if not, they can get them to you with the quickness. |

Re: clear tails 1972 c10
We can get them, but don't stock them anymore. They are iffy when it comes to being DOT legal. You can call me to order them and I can have them drop shipped. They are $59 for the pair plus shipping. Most people have not had to use the electronic flasher, but some have.

The upper trim, and even lower trim were avalible as there own option, and independent of each other. If the SPID (option sheet) is still in the glove box, then you'll be able to tell if the trim is original or not. |

We sell the clear lenses. We only have the red ones in stock today. We sell them for $6.50 each.for rear lights. On-line price a little higher.

Re: clear tails 1972 c10
Just an FYI. Clear side marker lenses and clear taillight lenses are strickly illegal. We use to sell them untill we learned from SEMA that the Feds were going to start tracking down the manufacturers and retailers and start fining us. That is when we discontinued them. The problem with the lenses are they do not reflect back red when lit up with another vehicles lights. Red bulbs, or red LEDs do not make the lense reflect back red. That is a Federal law. We use to sell them warning people that they were for off road and show pourposes only and the Feds say that because can not control when they are used, that was not a legitimate disclaimer. I think that big brother shouldn't be making people responcible for other people's actions, but they do. So untill the law changes we will not be selling them. WES

Re: clear tails 1972 c10
This is from the Oregon.gov Transportation Safety website;
http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/TS/Veh_Equipment.shtml LIGHTS 13) Are "Altezza" or European tail/brake light and front marker lenses legal for street use in Oregon? Answer: Oregon has adopted the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lighting equipment. The standard is very specific for tail/brake light lenses and front side marker light lenses. The standard requires red lenses (not red bulbs) for the tail/brake lights and red rear and side reflex reflectors and red side marker lights. A separate rear side marker light and reflex reflector may also be allowed for the rear lighting system to meet the standard. The front side marker lens lights can be either white or amber (yellow) and must also have an amber (yellow) reflex reflector incorporated into the lens or have a separate side marker light and reflex reflector to meet the standard. So, the answer to the question is in most cases after-market (non-original equipment) "Altezza" or European tail/brake and front marker light lenses are NOT legal for street use in Oregon. They usually lack the required reflex reflectors and side marker lights. Here is a link to a Web site with more information. http://fmvss108.tripod.com Note the "Recalls" section. Most all of the after-market "Altezza" and European lenses have been recalled for not meeting FMVSS 108. (ORS 816.010). I know the clear tails are illegal in Texas, I wasn't able to get an inspection sticker on my S-10 with a set of them on.

Re: clear tails 1972 c10
i have clears all the way around mine too.
they are clear like all your other ones. and there is no way to de-color the plastic lenses. they are amber or red all the way through... its a dye put into the liquid-plastic mix when they manufacture them.
