Re: Most "Desirable" Year and Model Truck
I`m figure you mean from the factory. They are all desireable as a canvas to be personalized. The holy grail would have to be the SWB Fleetside CheyenneSuper BBC with all the goodies. It is all a guy could want straight off the assembly line.
Within these years there are several highly desireable models.Top-of-the line K/20s are my cup of tea.On the top list would be SWB K models,CST Blazers(2 & 4wd),BBC SWB`68 CST(right behind the above`72 CheyenneSuper),Highlanders,CustomDeluxe Suburbans(2 & 4wd),basically any BBC equipped model...it could get to be a long list. The groups of guys just gets smaller, but there are those who seek the simplest form to C/30 work horses and I would never say any are less significant than another based on the size of the fan base. If a`68 CST BBC SWB was apples to apples with the CheyenneSuper it would take top position these days.

Re: Most "Desirable" Year and Model Truck
Laying all jokes aside, (I know I started the up the Corvette thing back up) but if you could somehow find the original SS concept truck below, I think it would be the rarest and most disirable 67-72 out there. Too bad that it most likely was to sent to the crusher by GM!
Can you imagine the feeling of being out tooling around some old trucks somewhere and run up on it? I can dream can't I?

Re: Most "Desirable" Year and Model Truck
....there it is! I was waiting for this.
Seriously though, for me the most desireable truck is the one the factory didn't build, which is why I'm hackin' the bejeezus out of the one I have. Personally that would be a 67-68, 1/2T, 2WD, CST, Extended Cab, Short Fleet, LS2 / Tremec 5 sp powered beast with disc brakes all around, air ride suspension, air conditioning, bucket-seats and tilt column. A respectable second choice is a 71-72 K5 (2 or 4 wheel drive).

Re: Most "Desirable" Year and Model Truck
The most desirable year and model? That's easy. It's my fully disassembled 68 K20 CST, w/327 and Buddy Buckets being restored by Mike at MuscleRodz (doing a great job btw!) I desire that year and model be fully reassembled and back in my garage most.

Re: Most "Desirable" Year and Model Truck
This one is tough because the more I think about it the more I love them all!
Then there is my 71 I am working on that I have a love/hate relationship with at times...... Seriously though I would say that Special-K summed it up well. |

Re: Most "Desirable" Year and Model Truck
67 or 68 with a gen 3 or 4 motor... second choice is a 71 or 72 with the same engine....69 or 70 would get switched to a 67-68 frontend...IMO

That's my thinking too (see Project Bruiser in sig for details ) I really like the looks of the 67-68 hood and front end the best, but the 72s really have a lot of nicely upgraded stuff (door panels, 5 lug, front disks, etc). |
