Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
Where is the cheapest place to buy Second Skin Damplifier Pro? I need about 80 to 90 square feet so a little savings could add up.
Thanks,

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
If you go search around some car audio forums theres a rep called ant who can set up with a deal
Myself I went with raammat and couldn't be happier. Both rick @ raam and ant will tell you that the others products are good, but second skin is supposed to be the absolute best |

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
From what I found, Ant works for Second Skin. Will he make you a better deal than the website?

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
I sent "ANT" a email asking if there were any current promos. When I googled second skin I found a bunch of coupons on various forums, but nothing current. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
I just did mine with the same Second Skin Damplifier. I like the way it turned out. There is a link to my build thread where I installed the mat. Near the bottom.

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
I got mine a few days ago but won't be installing it for another month.
Had I looked a bit closer I probably wouldn't have gone this route. I thought it was more a butyl product than an asphalt product. I would have just done the peel-n-seal route.

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
Price, smell, heat resistance, etc. You don't want to hang this vertically as it may slide over time which is what happened to me before. I'll be using something else for the vertical parts and this will lay flat.

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
Mostly just sound deading, not as great for heat resistance.

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
Another option to consider, Lizard Skin. I used Lizard Skin on all surfaces on interior, then additionaly covered the floor with Second Skin Damplifier, I am very pleased with how quiet the interior is when cruising along the highway

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
Which Lizard Skin did you use, thermal barrier or sound? Im thinking about using both. My panel is going to be black and I don't want to chance any kind of stick on barrier unsticking with all that black expanse of metal.

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
I used both, I put the sound barrier on first, then the thermal. I think youll be happy with the results

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
FWIW, I tried the peel-n-seal and did not like it. What a pain to remove...

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
I have a roll of fatmat and bunch of Dynomat. they are nearly all the same but different, so pick a price you like and use it.

You guys need to check that site out. As far as lizard skin I saw a thread on the hotrodders bulletin where guys were making their own. I bought some micro balloons, mixed it up with some paint and rolled it on the inside of my cab. Never used lizard skin before and planned on using mat anyways so it was just some cheap help. I think someone on that board did a test and saw a 10 degree difference sitting in the sun from one side of the panel to the other I think rammaat, second skin, and dynamat extreme are the only ones butyl based, but check that site out. |

Re: Second Skin Damplifier - sound deadner
The only problem with that website is that it hasnt been updated since 05. I wonder if other even better mat type stuff has come out since then.
